Rachel Lopez, Veterinarian

Hi there! My name is Dr. Rachel Lopez, and I look forward to meeting you and your pets here at Bark and Blossom Vet Studio! I am originally from South Florida and went to college in Orlando at The University of Central Florida. From there, I headed to Tennessee for veterinary school in search of actual seasons, and a new perspective. Along the way, I found that what truly grounds me in this profession is the human animal bond. I love being able to walk alongside my patients and their families through life’s ups and downs, offering support, guidance, and compassion at every stage. It’s the kind of veterinarian I needed for my family dog, a Jack Russell/Beagle mix named Patches, when I was a kid, and it’s what continues to drive my work today.

I practice spectrum-of-care medicine and believe strongly in meeting people where they are. Most of the time, there is more than one way to solve a problem, and my goal is to work collaboratively with you to find the solution that makes the most sense for your pet and your family. Open communication, trust, and empathy are at the heart of how I practice.

Outside of the clinic, I am married to a fellow south Floridian man who is of Cuban decent (hence the “Lopez” of it all!) who makes incredible Latin cuisine and introduced me to a lifelong love of café con leche. We share our lives with two golden doodles who keep things joyful and lively. I also treasure time spent with my family, especially my twin sister, who is also a veterinarian making our shared passion for animal care a true family affair.
